Me diagnosticaron carcinoma lobulillar pleom\u00f3rfico invasivo, as\u00ed como carcinoma ductal in situ Her 2 negativo y ER positivo en 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PF: <\/strong>\u00bfEn qu\u00e9 momento te diste cuenta de que te enfrentabas a una toxicidad financiera como resultado de tu diagn\u00f3stico de c\u00e1ncer de mama?<\/p>\n<p><strong>DH: <\/strong>Cuando me dijeron que la cirug\u00eda tardar\u00eda 6 semanas en recuperarme, y que luego tendr\u00eda 4 rondas de quimioterapia y 30 tratamientos de radiaci\u00f3n, supe que tendr\u00eda que ausentarme del trabajo para esto. Trabajaba por mi cuenta, as\u00ed que no ten\u00eda d\u00edas libres ni nada a lo que recurrir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PF: <\/strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo afect\u00f3 la tensi\u00f3n financiera a tu bienestar emocional y a tu experiencia general con el c\u00e1ncer?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>Fue emocionalmente debilitante. Estaba lidiando con una dolencia f\u00edsica y emocional.<\/p>\n<p><b>PF: <\/b>\u00bfPuedes contarnos sobre el Pink Fund y c\u00f3mo llegaste a conocer esta organizaci\u00f3n?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>Mi asistente social en ese momento dijo que pensaba que podr\u00eda reunir los requisitos. Fue un gran peso menos para m\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p><b>PF: <\/b>\u00bfC\u00f3mo fue el proceso de solicitud para obtener asistencia financiera del Pink Fund?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>Mi asistente social me ayud\u00f3 con la solicitud en su oficina. Tard\u00f3 unas horas, pero Pink Fund me ayud\u00f3 y pag\u00f3 mis facturas durante 3 meses. Cubri\u00f3 mi hipoteca, mi factura de electricidad y el pago de mi autom\u00f3vil.<\/p>\n<p><b>PF: <\/b>\u00bfDe qu\u00e9 manera la ayuda financiera brindada por Pink Fund ayud\u00f3 a aliviar parte de la carga en su vida durante su tratamiento?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>Fue de gran ayuda, fue casi como una balsa salvavidas que me ayud\u00f3 a mantenerme a flote hasta que pude solucionar mis problemas.<\/p>\n<p><b>PF: <\/b>\u00bfHay alguna manera espec\u00edfica en la que el apoyo de Pink Fund haya marcado una diferencia significativa en su experiencia?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>Realmente sent\u00ed que esta organizaci\u00f3n era diferente. Realmente vi el beneficio y s\u00e9 con certeza que cuando dona a esta organizaci\u00f3n, el dinero va directamente a los destinatarios y ellos no se quedan con ning\u00fan dinero retenido. Me conmovi\u00f3 tanto todo lo que hacen que comenc\u00e9 a trabajar como voluntaria para ellos en el oto\u00f1o de 2017.<\/p>\n<p><b>PF: <\/b>\u00bfQu\u00e9 consejo le dar\u00eda a otras pacientes de c\u00e1ncer de mama que actualmente est\u00e9n pasando por dificultades financieras similares?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>Le digo a cualquier persona con la que me comunico que est\u00e9 lidiando con el c\u00e1ncer de mama que complete una solicitud. Incluso llevo tarjetas de presentaci\u00f3n de Pink Fund en mi cartera.<\/p>\n<p><b>PF: <\/b>Aparte de Pink Fund, \u00bfhay otros recursos u organizaciones que la hayan ayudado a apoyarla financiera o emocionalmente durante su lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer de mama?<br \/>\n<strong>DH: <\/strong>S\u00ed. Angels of Hope tambi\u00e9n me ayud\u00f3 durante un mes con algunas facturas que ten\u00eda y me envi\u00f3 una tarjeta de regalo de $500 para que la usara como yo sintiera que era necesario.
