PINK FUND RECEIVES $20,000 GRANT FROM THE DONALD R. AND ESTHER SIMON FOUNDATION TO ENHANCE DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY
The grant will go towards Pink Fund’s development and implementation of a web-based application to better serve patients and recipients and remove barriers to support.
BINGHAM FARMS, MI – Pink Fund is proud to be the recipient of a $20,000 grant from the Donald R. and Esther Simon Foundation. The Donald R. and Esther Simon Foundation is built upon the legacy and philanthropy of Donald R. and Esther Simon and their children. With recognition of the family’s original roots in Michigan, the Simon Foundation supports projects that address Jewish life and identity, cancer research and support services, the cultural arts and social justice issues which make a positive impact in the lives of this generation and the next.
The grant money will go towards Pink Fund’s development, implementation, and maintenance of a web-based application for breast cancer patients.
“Patients will now be able to apply for financial support via their computer or smartphone, allowing a seamless process with shorter processing time, allowing financial relief to the family to come sooner,” says Tracey Cholish, director of development for Pink Fund. “For an organization that is already providing financial relief to those most in need and in treatment, this grant funding will have a long-term impact for families we help.”
Pink Fund has seen a 52% increase in requests for assistance from breast cancer patients in need of financial support. Grant opportunities and donations allow Pink Fund to expand its financial bridge program to meet the growing needs of these breast cancer patients and their families.
