Pink Fund CEO Selected To Walk In Kentucky Derby Survivors Parade
Molly MacDonald, co-founder of Pink Fund, has been selected to walk in the Survivors Parade at the 150th Kentucky Derby,
BINGHAM FARMS, MICH. – Molly MacDonald, co-founder and CEO of Pink Fund, will walk in the Survivors Parade on May 3 during the weekend of the 150th Kentucky Derby. Pink Fund is a breast cancer nonprofit based in Bingham Farms that provides financial assistance to patients in active treatment for breast cancer in the form of direct bill payments to patients' creditors.
The Survivors Parade is hosted during the Kentucky Oaks, kicking off derby weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. The parade honors the strength and resilience of breast cancer survivors across the country. More than 100 survivors will be honored at the parade.
“I am honored to have been selected to walk in the Survivors Parade. As a 19-year survivor, I am grateful to the Derby for recognizing and supporting breast cancer survivors from across the country,” said MacDonald. “It also serves as an opportunity to share Pink Fund’s mission. We help patients in all 50 states, so being represented on a national stage will support our mission to help more patients facing financial burdens related to their breast cancer diagnosis.”
Longtime Pink Fund supporter and esteemed Detroit-area milliner Gena Conti has been commissioned to design MacDonald’s derby hat. Conti donates a percentage of sales from her hot pink fedora to Pink Fund’s mission and many of her award-winning hats have been featured in the Kentucky Derby museum.
